The Council elections are over for another four years, bar the shouting, with six new Councillors and a new mayor. A wind of change has certainly blown through the chamber with over half the council replaced, following even more dramatic changes in the senior Council administration over the last three years, following the appointment of a new and dynamic CEO, Mark Withers. I have been privileged to represent you as a Councillor for ten of the last twelve years
On a personal note, as a defeated candidate for Unley Ward, I would like to thank all of you who supported me over the years, and to those who did not vote for me, I thank you for taking an interest in local affaires and voting, anyway.
I wish the new Unley Ward Councillors, Michael Hewitson (8271 9731) and Anthony Rowe (8272 3403) every success over the next four years, and , as a resident I promise they will be hearing form me from time to time. Congratulations to those who did not have to face an election and to the successful candidates will be at the helm till 2010. I hope that you find the experience as challenging and rewarding as I did.
Best wishes,
Rufus Salaman
