9. John³ Sweeney (Daniel², John¹) was born in Gawler Town, South Australia 24 February 1859. John died 1931 at 72 years of age.

He married Bridget Ashe in St Peter & Paul Church, Gawler, South Australia, 20 December 1883. Bridget was born 1859. Bridget was the daughter of John Ashe. Bridget died 22 June 1912 in Adelaide, South Australia, at 52 years of age. Brigets' birth was not recorded in South Australia.

John Sweeney and Bridget Ashe had the following children:

39 i. John Ashe⁴ Sweeney was born in Maylands, South Australia 29 September 1884.

40 ii. Leonard Gregory Sweeney was born in Norwood, South Australia 21 May 1887.
