Henry Melmoth Jackson and Harriet Stephens

1. Henry Melmoth¹ Jackson appears to have been born overseas and emmigrated to South Australia. He was born in about 1821.

He married Harriet Stephens on 25 December 1851 in St James Church at Blakiston, a small locality 3 miles distant from the township of Mount Barker in South Australia. Harriet appears to also to have emmigrated to South Australia after her birth in about 1832.

Henry Melmoth Jackson and Harriet Stephens had the following children:

3 ii. Hannah Jackson was born 7 December 1856 at Meadows, South Australia.She married Steven McCullagh on 10 April 1892.

4 iii. Louisa Jackson was born 26 November 1864 at Moonta, South Australia. It is unknown if she married.

5 iv. William Joseph Jackson was born 6 May 1867 at Moonta, South Australia.He married Emily Annie Tyson on 19 October 1890.

6 v. Samuel Melmoth Jackson was born 14 October 1872. It is believed he died 1947. It is unknown if he married.

7 vi. Lancelot Frank Jackson was born 14 May 1875 at Moonta, South Australia.He married Lily Dyer on 19 October 1890.

8 vii. Elizbeth Jackson was born 19 November 1858 at Meadows in South Australia. It is unknown if she married.

9 viii. Thomas Jackson was born 26 January 1861 at Meadows, South Australia. It is unknown if he married.

10 ix. Harriet Jackson was born 10 November 1869 at Moonta, South Australia. It is unknown if she married.

11 xii. Alexander Melmoth Jackson was born 10 January 1863 at Meadows, South Australia.He married Mary Ann Elizabeth Gibson on 17 November 1887.

Steven McCullagh and Hannah Jackson

Hannah Jackson was born 7 December 1856 at Meadows in South Australia (Registered SA Births in the district of Adelaide in book 7 on page 217). On 10 April 1882 at Port Wakefield, South Australia (Registered in SA Marriages in the district of Gilbert in book 131 on page 271) she married Steven McCullagh who was born about 1861.
His parents were Samuel McCullagh, who was born about 1828 and died 25 September 1906 at Willunga, South Australia and Matilda Ann who was born about 1832 and died 31 July 1895 at Adelaide, South Australia. Their residence was at Willunga, South Australia. It is not known if Hannah and Steven had any children.

William Joseph Jackson and Emily Annie Tyson

1. William Joseph¹ Jackson was born on 6 May 1867 at Moonta, South Australia (Registered SA Births in the district of Daly in book 52 on page 306).

He married Emily Annie Tyson on 19 October 1890 in the residence of Ebenezer Tyson at Norwood, South Austalia, (Registered SA Marriages in the district of Adelaide in book 165 on page 154). Emily was born on 15 November 1868 at Adelaide, South Australia to Ebenezer Tyson, born about 1843 and Mary Ann Spittell Mander, born about 1849. Both believed to have emmigrated to South Australia. In the family there were 3 daughters and four sons all born between 1868 and 1888, all born at Adelaide while one was born at Norwood, South Australia.

William Joseph Jackson and Emily Annie Tyson had the following children:

2 i. Rose Chrystabell Jackson who was born 28 April 1891 at East Adelaide, South Australia. She married Henry Frankling James Chambers, on 1 March 1919 in Church of Christ Tabernacle, at Norwood, South Australia. He was born about 1887. His father was Henry Chambers. It is not known if Henry and Rose had any children.

3 ii. Daisy Myrtle Jackson who was born 24 July 1892 at Stepney, South Australia. It is unknown if she married.

4 iii. Doris Vera Jackson was born 24 August 1894 at North Adelaide, South Australia. She married James Rostron on 24 April 1924.

Lancelot Frank Jackson and Lily Dyer

Lancelot Frank Jackson was born 14 May 1875 at Moonta in South Australia (Registered SA Births in the district of Daly in book 155 on page 455). On 10 January 1899 in the residence of the Reverend J J Darwin at North Adelaide, South Australia (Registered in SA Marriages in the district of Adelaide in book 198 on page 83) he married Lily Dyer who was born on 2 August 1878 at Adelaide, South Australia (Registered SA Births in the district of Adelaide in book 206 on page 120).
Her parents were Emil Simpson Dyer, born about 1850, deceased before 1884 and Sarah Emma Lapthorne who was born 5 October 1851 at Glenelg, South Australia, died 1 May 1884 at Adelaide, South Australia. Her parents were married on 10 Sepember 1872 at Adelaide, South Australia. It is not known if Lancelot and Lily had any children.

Alexander Melmoth Jackson and Mary Ann Elizabeth Gibson

1. Alexander Melmoth Jackson was born on 10 January 1863 at Meadows in South Australia (Registered SA Births in the district of Strathalbyn in book 28 on page 164).

On 17 November 1887 in St Luke Church, Adelaide, South Australia (Registered in SA Marriages in the district of Adelaide in book 153 on page 532) he married Mary Ann Elizabeth Gibson who was born about 1866. Her father was Reuben William Gibson who was born about 1844 and died on 15 November 1893 at North Adelaide, South Australia.

Alexander Melmoth Jackson and Mary Ann Elizabeth Gibson had the following children:

2 i. Harold Melmoth Jackson who was born 12 February 1889 at North Adelaide, South Australia. It is unknown if he married.

3 ii. Hilda May Jackson who was born 12 June 1890 at North Adelaide, South Australia. It is unknown if she married.

4 iii. Ruby Jackson who was born 30 June 1891 at North Adelaide, South Australia. Ruby died on 23 November 1891 at Mansfield Park, South Australia at the age of 5 months. This was also the families residence at the time.

5 iv. Ernest Alexander Jackson who was born 10 November 1892 at North Adelaide, South Australia. It is unknown if he married.

6 v. Herbert William Jackson who was born 26 November 1894 at North Adelaide, South Australia. It is unknown if he married.

James Rostron and Doris Vera Jackson

1. Doris Vera Jackson was born on 24 August 1894 at North Adelaide,South Australia (Registered SA Births in the district of Adelaide in book 548 on page 450).

She married James Rostron on 24 April 1924 in Church of Christ at Adelaide, South Australia (Registered SA Marriages in the district of Adelaide in book 299 on page 388). James was born in about 1895 in the United States of America to James Rostron and Kate Louise Laws (Lawes) and died at the age of 97 years.

James Rostron and Doris Vera Jackson had the following children:

2 i. Peter David Rostron who was born 9 September 1934 He married Marlene Kay Milford at Wooville, South Australia.

3 ii. Jacqueline Beth Rostron who was born 15 July 1925 at Kings Park, South Australia. It is unknown if she married.
