He married Jane Lacey in Wistow, South Australia, 29 January 1878. Jane was born 1854. Jane was the daughter of Edward Lacey.

John Baldwin and Jane Lacey had the following children:

74 i. Rosey May⁶ Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 8 April 1879. Rosey died 12 June 1901 in Orroroo, South Australia, at 22 years of age.

75 ii. Allen Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 1 September 1880.

76 iii. Harriet Charlotte Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 5 November 1885. She married George Ernest Ackland in Walloway, South Australia, 16 May 1906. George was born in South Rhine, South Australia 6 April 1873. George was the son of William Ackland and Grace Parkyn Grigg.

77 iv. Herbert Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 1 October 1887.

78 v. Clara Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 5 March 1889.

79 vi. Grace Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 12 July 1891. Grace died 14 April 1894 in Walloway, South Australia, at 2 years of age.

80 vii. Elsie Olive Baldwin was born in Walloway, South Australia 4 October 1893.
