He married twice. He married Elizabeth Hayward England. Elizabeth was born in Hankerton in Wiltshire, England. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Hayward and Sarah Weast. Elizabeth died 4 May 1866 in Echunga, South Australia. Her body was interred 4 May 1866 in Echunga, South Australia. He married Susannah Walker in Wistow, South Australia, 27 June 1868. Susannah was born 1818. Susannah was the daughter of William Walker. Susannah died 29 January 1888 in Fullarton, South Australia, at 69 years of age. Is not known whether she had any children of her first marriage but may have had a son and daughter, only that her marriage to John Baldwin did not produce any children. Residences, at the time of her marriage to John Baldwin was living at Wistow, South Australia then at Western Flat, Echunga and later at Fullarton when she was a widow. Residences: Leigherton in Gloucestershire, England, Western Flat and Echunga in South Australia. Occupations: Farm Labourer, Carpenter.
